Wear parts by drawing number, not by description

25 Oct 2026 Wear & spare parts

“One set of jaw plates for a 1 200 by 900” is not an order. It is a description that fits several machines, some of which will not close, and it is how mines end up with a part on site that fits the crusher next door.

Why the drawing number matters

A jaw plate is defined by its tooth profile, its thickness, the position of the fixing holes and the alloy. Two plates that look the same on a pallet can differ by 15 mm of thickness and a different manganese grade. The drawing number is the only thing that carries all of that without argument.

Freezing is a promise about the future

When a revision is frozen, every part made afterwards is made to it. That is what makes a reline in year five a purchase order rather than a redesign, and it is why the freeze is dated and signed.

Wear is a rate, not a surprise

A reline that is discovered when the product goes off-spec costs a shutdown window. A reline forecast from measured wear costs a booking. The difference is a baseline taken at commissioning and measured honestly afterwards.

Keep the records

What came out, what went in, how many hours it ran. Three lines per change-out, and after a year you have a wear curve instead of an opinion.

A 200 kg sample and the product list you want to sell is enough for us to price a circuit. Without the sample we will tell you so rather than guess.
