Privacy policy
How Ridgecast Ltd handles the information you send through this site — in plain English, with no tracking to disclose.
Who we are
Ridgecast Ltd designs, builds and commissions crushing and screening plants for hard-rock mines and quarries. The works and registered office is Unit 2, Forge Park, Sheffield S9 1HF, United Kingdom. Ridgecast Ltd is the controller of the personal data described on this page.
For anything on this page — including a request about your own data — write to applications@ridgecast.works or call +44 (0)114 244 0180.
What this site collects
What you send us. The enquiry form collects your name and email address and, if you fill them in, your company, the rock type, the target product, the mine setting, your message, and any drawings, sample logs or rock photographs you attach. Attachments are stored with the enquiry and are never published on this site.
What the server records. Like any website, the server keeps a technical log of requests: IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser’s user agent. Our hosting provider keeps those logs to run the site and to detect abuse.
What we do not collect. There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracking on this site, and no profile of your browsing is built here.
Why we hold it, and on what basis
- To answer your enquiry and prepare a quotation — processing necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- To keep a record of what was quoted, supplied and signed off — our legitimate interests in running the business and standing behind the plant (Article 6(1)(f)).
- To keep the site running and secure — legitimate interests in protecting the service (Article 6(1)(f)).
We do not use an enquiry for marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and loads no third-party scripts. WordPress sets a cookie only in the two cases it must: if you log in to the site, or if you leave a comment. Nothing on the public pages depends on a cookie, so there is no cookie banner to accept.
If analytics or embedded media are ever added, this section will say what they are and ask for your consent first.
Who sees it
An enquiry is read by the people who answer it — the applications desk, and the drawing office when a technical question comes with it. Outside Ridgecast it is seen only by the providers who run our website and our email, acting on our instructions as processors under contract. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose it where the law requires, or to our professional advisers and insurers in connection with a claim.
Where it is held
Enquiries and uploads are stored in this website’s database, operated for us by our hosting provider, and delivered to us by email. Where a provider processes data outside the United Kingdom, we rely on the UK’s adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
An enquiry is kept while it is live — while we are quoting, and for as long as any resulting order or plant is being supported — and afterwards only as long as our legal, tax and insurance obligations require. Attached drawings and photographs are deleted with the enquiry. You can ask us to delete an enquiry sooner and we will, unless we must keep it to answer a legal claim.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, or object to our processing of it. Write to the address above; we answer within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Security
Uploads are held privately with the enquiry and are reachable only through the site’s administration, not by a public link. Access to the administration is limited to the people who answer enquiries, and the software behind the site is kept up to date.
Children
This site is written for buyers of industrial plant. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their data.
